  having recently finished the "new boy" book--i compare those poor suckers slaving away and getting paid a pittance,---and that idiot goes and blows over $800 on expensive booze. so what if it was his own money--from private wealth--its still shoving their noses in the shit.

  R movies

  ok i know from being in the cult for many years some will watch r movies and just do it on the down low at home.

  i know of some who would walk out of a room or leave if someone played an r movie when they were visiting.

  my ex partner who was an elder would walk out of a room if anyone played anything that was remotely questionable.

  this just jogged my memory.

  when i was first dating my born in girlfriend ( we married about 3 years later )--my jw dad decided to take us to the cinema...there was a film he had heard about.

  it was hitchcock's "psycho".

  i dont know how we sat through it.

  i dont know why my girlfriend didnt ditch me after that

  for the rest of his life i used to tease my dad about it.

  in my case--i courted a young female born-in 3rd generation dub from my mid teens. her parents were strict dubs. her father would not give us permission to marry for several years. my reason to marry--? sex. i was gagging for it. we did engage in a lot of " fooling around" but never went the whole way.

  did i love her ? i thought so at the time..but that soon passed.

  we got married when i was 20..she was 19.

  our first child came 3 years later. 2 more after armageddon never happened in '75. by then i was long out of the cult.

  after our 3rd kid--i offered to have a vasectomy--but she wouldnt hear of it. in fact--she wouldnt even discuss birth control. it never dawned on me she was looking for a way out of the marriage.

  i handed that to her--gift wrapped. i started an affaire with another "sister" i had fancied for years.

  so my wife filed for divorce citing my adultery--and it was all over within a few weeks. 13 years of marriage and 3 kids later.

  i never knew what an R movie was.. i thought maybe like the infamous snuff movies of the 80's. i dont like watching murder films. rather watch people have sex than kill each other.

  A little rant about prayer

  is god responsible for every good thing that happens in your life?

  i ask this because a brother gave a talk several weeks ago and said that.

  he said when anything positive happens, we must not assume it was by mere coincidence, but we have to have 100% confidence that jehovah cares for us and was involved.. however, people complain that jehovah doesn’t answer their prayers and are told you have to keep asking, you need to show him you really want it bad.

  i just read the amazon (UK) listing for this book--and was rather amused to see the write up about it was by someone with the same name as my late (JW ) father.

  the person in the book i was referring to was Jack Sutton---same name as my late father.

  if anyone reading this knew my dad--in Birmingham UK up to the mid 1980's--and the isle of Wight (UK) up to 2016, they are welcome to send me a PM.
